RBH Creative Agency supports Malawi charity

We have spread our corporate social responsibility internationally, by teaming up with North Warwickshire-based charity, Chinthowa Development Trust (CDT).

The family-run, Chinthowa Development Trust came into existence in 2001 and has since helped over 750 orphans in the village of Chinthowa in Malawi, by providing funds to enable their extended families to care for them.

In 2009, CDT began the construction of a local primary school, with all the work being carried out by the locals who were taught valuable bricklaying and carpentry skills. With such large numbers of children attending the school, the charity is now embarking on a second phase of building to relieve the overcrowding in the classroom, as well as expanding the classes to accommodate years seven and eight.

Hearing of the incredible work carried out by the charity, and its proposed plans to create a computer suite in the school, RBH pledged its support by formulating an inventory of 64 unused IT items, including laptops and PCs. This donation will play a life-changing role in the children’s education.

Rob Drewry, agency partner at RBH, said: “CDT is a fantastic, worthwhile charity which provides vital aid to children and their families in the village of Chinthowa in Malawi. The work they’ve already achieved with the school is having a huge impact, and we are only too pleased to have been able to support the charity in equipping its new classroom.

Brian Ingram, founder of Chinthowa Development Trust, said: “We are very excited to be able to deliver the IT equipment that will enable us to set-up the highly anticipated computer suite. The donations we receive are absolutely crucial in allowing us to continue the work that we do, and we could not do that without the help of companies such as RBH. Thank you.”
