How to advertise on social platform Reddit

Our top three tips for advertising on Reddit

Brand? Marketer? Independent business? Whichever you are, it’s essential that you learn how to advertise on Reddit. And if that sounds odd – if you haven’t heard why every marketer is suddenly talking about advertising on Reddit – then you need to either watch our most recent podcast episode or have a read of our recent deep dive. Because this isn’t going away any time soon.

All caught up? Good. Here are our top three tips for advertising on Reddit:

  • Don’t be salesy

This isn’t the platform for a hard sell. The opposite actually applies. Talking to Redditors is all about adopting their relaxed tone of voice and blending in as much as possible. If your posts look inherently inauthentic, too biased or composed, they will be ignored, or in some cases, even deleted. Instead, win trust with balanced, informal discussions on a variety of topics, and call on that trust wisely when it’s time to talk about your brand.

  • Add something of value

People go on Reddit to find things out. They go in with queries and questions that other places couldn’t answer, often because the questions necessitated an answer that wasn’t black and white. That’s where Reddit thrives – the grey area in which discussions blossom. It’s where you can make yourself useful, and reputable. Offer an insight, a relevant anecdote, a piece of data that proves or disqualifies something else. Anything, as long as it brings something new to the discussion.

  • Make sure that you enable comments

There’s no point just shouting out into the void. If you’ve chosen to advertise on Reddit, you’ve elected to engage in a discourse, not promote a statement. And there’s not much point to a discourse where you don’t hear anything back. So, this is probably our simplest tip, and easily the most important – just make sure you’ve enabled comments. You’d be amazed how many brands have already gotten this part wrong.

How brands should be using colour in 2026

One of the funny things about colour is it has everything, and nothing, to do with perspective.

Because there’s no way to guarantee that you and I see the same colour when we both point at ‘yellow’ on a colour chart. We might try to describe what we see – a bright, full colour – but that doesn’t describe the quality of what yellow is, just its saturation and brightness. So, we change tack. Let’s call it the happy colour, the shining, optimistic hue of childhood and buttercups. We can agree on that, and so we can assure ourselves we are seeing the same thing, and rest easy, once again.

Gen Z doesn’t love TikTok like it used to

Gen Z is TikTok’s most important audience. It has been ever since Musical.ly emerged in 2014, and it still represents roughly 60% of TikTok’s users today. Without a doubt, the group constitutes its most important relationship. So, I can only imagine how worrying it’s been for TikTok since the new Harris Poll report reported 60% of Gen Z no longer consider the platform to be trustworthy in 2026.
