RBH and Mell Square to spread Christmas cheer with the help of Solihull charities

Mell Square and RBH to deliver Christmas activity which not only gives back to the community but also helps to spread Christmas cheer.

Solihull-based shopping centre, Mell Square is to deliver Christmas activity every Saturday in December, which not only gives back to the community but also helps to spread Christmas cheer, thanks to a charity led gift-wrapping event developed by RBH.

A creative concept was created to embody the CSR aspect, whilst still lending itself to the wider Christmas activities led by Mell Square’s retailers, from stores such as The White Company, House of Fraser and The Body Shop.

Through liaising with local charities, St Basils, Solihull Careers, Solihull Hospital Charity and The British Heart Foundation, RBH secured volunteer staff, with each charity to host their own dedicated Saturday to raise funds for their cause.

The look and feel was then rolled out across a multitude of marketing collateral formats, including; promotional flags, shop front signage, till point vinyls, large format posters, web and social assets, and a creative gift-guide.

The door-drop which is being circulated to over 60,000 properties in Solihull and the surrounding area, includes a gift-guide style roundup and competition. This was made possible by working closely with Mell Square retailers to source the products and content needed to create the collateral.

Pro-active social and PR has been activated on the lead-up, with planned support throughout the event. Coverage has been secured in key local titles including; Solihull News, Solihull Observer and Coventry Observer, with further online support from Solihull Updates.

The pop-up, which will be hosted by local charities, and supported by Mell Square owners, I.M. Properties and RBH Creative Communications every Saturday in December, has been converted from a bare unit, into a festive wonderland with the gift-wrapping supported by Farrow & Ball. Those visiting the pop-up to support the charity initiative will also be treated to free hot drinks and nibbles, thanks to Mell Square retailer, Café Isabella.

So, if you’re looking for a helping hand with your wrapping this Christmas, visit Mell Square, Solihull every Saturday in December. Or perhaps you’d like to enter the competition to win an enchanted Christmas bundle from Liv’s worth £100. Find out how, over on the Mell Square website.
