Young British Designers Press Day

YBD Press Day

On a muggy Thursday morning in July, Team YBD headed down to Soho, London for the highly anticipated showcase of the new brand identity, new website, and new curated collection for AW15.

A new YBD was ready to meet the press.

Our beloved YBD has been going through some changes of late and has finally re-emerged with a new look and feel, centered much more on the designers, their inspirations and collections.

Along with this also comes a brand new curated collection for AW15 as we gathered the YBD alumni, top finds from the past five years and newly emerging designers together to showcase & remind why the world really needs Young British Designers.

The Lights of Soho was the perfect venue choice for our Press Breakfast to launch ‘new YBD’. Having opened just two weeks ago, and located directly opposite the new London Fashion Week venue (a huge car park!) – it was the ideal place to unite fashion and features editors alike. With a quirky art gallery and neon light bar downstairs, we planted ourselves in-between with rails of designer samples from their new and highly anticipated collections.

And these collections were a hit with our guests. We had visits from the features and fashion assistants and editors at Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle & Cosmopolitan. As well as the Editor in Chief and Fashion Director at Stella and the Editor of Emerald Street.

One of our favourite alumni designers – Simeon Farrar – also kindly agreed to come along with his own bespoke designed t-shirts – ready to personalise for all our lovely fashion guests.  And as you can see, the witty designs were well received…

Since the event, we’ve had some wonderful feedback on YBD and the new AW15 curated collection of designers – with Harper’s Bazaar and Grazia both due to run features in August.
